Privacy policy
Effective October 1, 2026.
The Trades Almanac is a static website published by Bellwether-Pacific LLC, the company behind the FourHome brand, in Atlanta, Georgia. This page explains what the site collects and what it does with it.
Reading the site
You can read every page without creating an account or giving us any information. The site is hosted on Netlify, which, like any web host, keeps server logs that may include your IP address, the pages you request, your browser type and the time of the request. We use those logs only to keep the site running and to understand aggregate traffic.
The site may use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. If it does, the analytics script sets cookies and sends usage data to Google under Google’s own privacy policy. We do not use that data to identify you. You can block it with a browser extension or by turning off cookies for this site, and the site works the same way without it.
The site stores one thing in your browser on its own: if you choose a climate region on the Home Almanac, that choice is saved in your browser so the next month page opens to the same region. It never leaves your device.
The Monthly Almanac email
If you sign up for the Monthly Almanac, you give us your email address and, optionally, your region. The form is processed by Netlify Forms and the address is stored there and in the publisher’s mailing tool. We use it to send one email a month with that month’s checklist, plus an occasional note when something on the site changes in a way that matters. We do not sell, rent or share the list. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to the address in the footer to be removed.
Links to Amazon and other sites
Product boxes link to Amazon.com. Those links may carry an Amazon Attribution tag that tells Amazon the visit came from this site; it identifies the site, not you. Once you are on Amazon, Amazon’s privacy policy applies. The same is true of any other outside site this one links to, including the government and university sources listed on each page.
Children
The site is written for adults making decisions about their homes and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it.
